Introduction
The Clinical Frontend Framework (CFF) is designed to provide modular building blocks for creating 3D clinical web applications. Its primary goal is to accelerate the development of production-grade applications while fostering alignment across Straumann's web 3D clinical teams.
CFF is supported by a vibrant innersource community, emphasizing collaboration and a well-defined project scope. Teams from Straumann CoPilot, UN!Q, ChairSide, cDX, and others actively contribute to this effort.
What We Build
CFF delivers a range of capabilities, from foundational front-end frameworks like React to complete 3D web clinical applications such as the Smart Design App. These include tools, rendering pipelines, UI components, and more.
How do the pieces fit together?

How We Build
- Take Action: Start small, focusing on your team's needs. Iterate and evolve as the framework matures.
- Communicate: Share your work, seek synergies, and leverage expertise across teams.
- Deliver Value: Ensure contributions provide immediate benefits and lower the barrier to entry for others.
- Centralize Efforts: Relevant developments should integrate into CFF, whether initiated within CFF or product applications.
Getting Started
- Explore solutions like low-level libraries, viewer components, and reusable UI components and tools.
- Join the Teams Channel to stay updated and collaborate.
Contributing
-
Propose ideas in the channel. For small changes, submit issues and PRs. For larger changes, draft RFCs before implementation.
-
Request access to GHE when ready to contribute (this can be done via myid).
